This past weekend the team members participated in a Soaring Seminar in Ottawa. The seminar was attended by 46 pilots from the Ottawa and Montreal area clubs and a small contingent made the drive from the Toronto area as well.
Dave made a presentation on Weather Forecasting from Internet sources including the relatively new XC Skies soaring weather website.
Willem presented Macready Theory as applied to the inter-thermal and final glide modes of flight
Jerzy presented techniques to optimize cross-country speed while on task.
The seminar was well received by all who attended and many took away new concepts to apply in improving their own cross-country flying.
